Yelagiri Hills is for easy-paced, relaxed weekends; an ideal getaway from the hustle, bustle and madness of the city. Fourteen hairpin bends and about half an hour or so of driving uphill.
Driving Directions
Jolarpet, the nearest railway station, has many trains passing through its junction from Bangalore, Coimbatore and Chennai. From Jolarpet, you can take a bus and reach the hills. In case you decide to drive down from Bangalore, take the Bangalore – Chennai highway. Your route will be Hosur – Krishnagiri – Vaniyambadi circle– at the circle follow the board indicating ‘Elagiri’. Driving from Chennai, follow the Chennai – Bangalore highway that takes you through Sriperambadur, Vellore, Ambur, Vaniyambadi circle. At the circle follow the board pointing to Elagiri.

Things to Remember
Please note there are no petrol stations in Yelagiri, thus you have to fillup the tank at the last available petrol station in the plains. Except for a few tire changers, there are no vehicle repair shops on the hills.
Also, take your first-aid kit along with your regular medicines, if any, with you. There is a government primary health centre, and a private clinic. The nearest health centre is in Tirupattur.
